The 5km race route is 100% downhill! There is a height drop of 540ft along route making this an incredibly fast run!
The Cheddar Gorge 10km road race opens with some gentle undulations over the opening 2.5km, before 7.5km of 100% complete downhill running in which you will lose ~175m in elevation, with the downhill getting steeper as the race goes on so you can sprint for the finish line for your fastest 10km time!
The Half Marathon route is from the bottom of the gorge, to the top and back down again so there is no overall elevation change, though you will do a fair amount of climbing and descending along the way, 950ft in each direction.
