The Half Marathon starts with a wide beautiful tree lined avenue heading towards Badminton House. After the road crossing the route skirts around a field boundary before running a long tree lined avenue. The route heads into the deer park and has a short out and back length to give you a great view of the main house.
After grabbing a drink at the first of 4 drinks stations at ~4.25miles you will pass through a series of gate houses on the estate before hitting a shaded tree lined stretch which takes you through to just over 7 miles. Open fields will guide you across the the next drinks station set outside Castle Barn at 8.25 miles. You are now on the return leg of an out and back section heading towards the first drinks station which you first visited.
Tree lined avenues, on a mixture of private and public roads will take you to the final drinks station of the half marathon lap at ~11 miles if you need a top up before you head into Swangrove Wood where a mixture of new and mature trees await along with a sprinkling of historic follies. The final pull is through woodland before runners make a right turn to pass under Worcester Lodge with the finish line just 100m ahead.
