We will be back for another series of winter 10km races around the Bath Skyline in November & December 2012, January & February 2013 

Venue

The Sports Training Village (STV) at the University of Bath plays host to Relish The Great Outdoors for this exciting event. This world class facility is the training base of the British Paralympic team, Bath rugby and a huge host of other international athletes.

Route

The race starts with a rolling down hill through the National Trust's Bushey Norwood field. Runners then head along woodland trails around the University campus.

A quick hop over a style after 2km and runners are heading to Sham Castle (photo above) with great views of the City of Bath. Next is some fun and muddy forest trails - bring your off road shoes! Emerging from the forest after 3km and it is on to some faster tracks and fields with stunning views of Solsbury Hill and Brown's Folly on the horison.

Now it is time to head into Bathampton Wood along more exciting paths. Runners then briefly appear on the perimter of the Bath Golf Club before heading back down into Bushey Norwood for the sprint finish, the 2nd lap or to tag in your relay runner.

Prizes 

The winners' prizes for the 10km will be provided by our fantastic sponsors Running Home and O2 Creation and awarded as follows;

10km

  • Top 3 men and top 3 ladies
  • First veteran (40) man and lady
  • First junior (U20) man and lady
  • First relay team

Spot prizes will be courtesy of Cytomax Energy drinks.

All runners will receive a memento and goody bag.

We will also have our usual platters of fresh fruit and jelly beans waiting for you at the finish line!

Facilities 

There is free parking for the Sunday events (unfortunately the University charges for parking on a Saturday, applicable for December event only) participants and supporters. Toilets, showers and changing facilities are all located with in the Sports Training Village.  The STV is accessible to wheelchairs, but unfortunately the course is not suitable for wheelchairs.

After the race, replenish your reserves with a nutrituous meal at the Sports Cafe. Designed to fuel the country's top athletes you can be sure to get both a delicious and restorative post race top up.
